THE NEWSGROUP CONNECTION If you have never quibbled over proper approach flap settings with a person sitting in Australia, then you should try Newsgroups. Newsgroups are freewheeling public message boards where a a variety of aviation topics from around the world are discussed with no adult supervision whatsoever, so use them with caution (and, of course, with the knowledge that they are a separate entity from ABS, and do not reflect the opinion of ABS, Service Clinics, the ABS Air Safety Foundation, or BPPP, Inc.). Dedicated Internet users will tell you that Newsgroups are easily the most fun and addictive part of the Internet. Here is a link to one site, Beech-Owners , which will connect you to a Newsgroup via the World Wide Web. Use this link to read and post your own Newsgroup articles. Search on the above service for the following especially interesting aviation Newsgroups: rec.aviation.owning, rec.aviation.piloting, rec.aviation.ifr, and rec.aviation.misc. There are a large number of other aviation newsgroups as well. A number of members believe that there should be a dedicated Beechcraft newsgroup, and that is in the works. In support of that effort, we need as many as possible to participate in the above newsgroups. When posting a new message, help your fellow Beechcraft lovers by putting the word [BEECH] in the subject heading of any Beechcraft-related posts you make to a Newsgroup! |
