Spar Web Issue: ABS Needs YOUR Help

ABS needs YOUR help to get as much relevant data as possible on the spar web cracks issue.  EVEN IF YOU ANSWERED OUR EARLIER SURVEY we ask that you take the time to complete this second questionnaire.

 

Working this issue for over a year we’ve learned more precisely what information we need to know.  MORE IMPORTANTLY, we need a much greater response rate than we received to the first survey to get enough data to draw any definitive conclusions.  If you own an airplane affected by this issue WE NEED YOU TO RESPOND.

NOT AN ABS MEMBER?  We need your response anyway, to support continued airworthiness of ALL our Beechcraft.   

 

1. ALL RESPONDERS please answer ALL applicable questions.  Accuracy is more important that a swift response.
2. IF YOU HAVE ANY IDENTIFIED CRACKS as applicable to these ADs please complete and send in hard copy of the survey.  Include photos or accurate sketches of cracks to give us more useful information.  Please involve your mechanic if needed to provide precise data.  Ask your mechanic to contact ABS with any questions.  Mail or fax the survey pages to:

3. IF YOU HAVE NO IDENTIFIED CRACKS applicable to these ADs you may e-mail your response.  Cut and paste the below and e-mail (with answers) to bonanza8@bonanza.org.: 
   
   
   1. Aircraft model (e.g., H35, B36TC, B55, etc.)
   2. Aircraft serial number
   3. Total airframe time (current)
   4. (YES or NO): Has the airplane ever been used for commercial or full-time instructional use?
   5. (YES or NO): Has the airplane ever had one or more gear up landings or gear collapse incidents?
   6. Date of most recent AD dye penetrant check
   7. Total airframe time at most recent AD dye penetrant check
   8. Your name and phone number (will be kept confidential; in case we need more information)
