The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has published Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) NE-11-54, advising inspections of all Continental Motors, Inc. (formerly Teledyne Continental Motors) engines following a propeller strike, sudden stoppage and/or hydraulic lock of propellers. To prevent possible propeller or crankshaft failure or separation in flight, the SAIB recommends that following any propeller strike or hydraulic lock incident that owners should ensure the powerplant is torn down and inspected as specified in Continental Motors Service Bulletin SB96-11B and the appropriate overhaul manual.

For full details see SAIB NE-11-54 and CM SB96-11B.
