The Bonanza/Debonair/Baron/Travel Air Service Clinic Program was established in 1977. It was created to provide members of ABS an opportunity to have their airplanes inspected by the foremost experts in the aviation community. In a sense, the Service Clinics have replaced the Beech Field Service Clinics which were discontinued many years ago. The objective is to detect any service problems that may be left over after a periodic inspection in a service shop, or to validate that the inspection report the airplane received from the shop was accurate and complete. The basic concept is to offer a comprehensive, highly structured initial visual inspection of the airplane. Teledyne Continental Motors generously provides an additional benefit at most Service Clinics. TCM's schedule and staffing permitting, their engine experts conduct cylinder borescope and compression checks while ABS' inspector is looking at the airframe. When available, this extra service is free with the price of the Service Clinic. ABS can't guarantee TCM can be at every Clinic and may not know until the last minute whether TCM particiapte. But TCM almost always adds this benefit to the Service Clinic. The Service Clinic program is, in effect, a "second opinion" service conducted by recognized Beechcraft experts. Service Clinics are scheduled for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday in 1 hour, 30 minutes increments. Prices for the ABS/ASF Service Clinics will be $200 for Bonanzas and Debonairs; $250 for Barons and Travel Airs. The schedule for upcoming clinics is published below, and is also available in the monthly ABS Magazine. Turbine-conversion ABS-type airplanes may be accepted for inspection in the ABS ASF Service Clinic program. The Service Clinic inspector will inspect unmodified parts of the airframe. The engine compartment(s) of turbine-modified airplanes will not be inspected. Owners should note that the modification and additional power of turbine conversions may create stresses and potential issues for those airframes that our inspectors are not aware of and may not detect. The ABS Service Clinic inspector has the final say whether a specific turbine-conversion airplane will be accepted for inspection. You must be a member of ABS and logged into Members Only to register for a Service Clinic. Once you have logged on, click here or on the location below to register.
