Paint Shop Recommendation (s) in the North East?

We need a good data base of paint shops and quality levels.

I was recently quoted $24K for a paint job on my G model here in the Atlanta area. Does that sound right?

I am thinking there are a lot (like many) variables when you say that you were quoted $xxxxx dollars for a "paint job." What is included in the cost of the "paint job" should be identified. New wing root seals? How many colors? What does the paint design look like (complex)? and a bunch of other variables... Hard to give advice on the cost of a "paint job."

Jon, Flying Colors in Benton, Harbor, Michigan ( KBEH) does very nice work.

A careless paint shop can total an airplane thru improper stripping materials and technique, so you guys are very wise to ask around.

I know of several who used the Smoketown painter with good results. That'd be my recommendation. PlaneCare in HGR is another good recommendation.

I used the guy in Zerbe/Selinsgrove and didn't have a good experience. My ruddervaders needed a second strip and paint....even when instructions for drying and prepping was provided up front. He does good work on experimentals...just not Bonanzas.
