Changing wingtips

I currently have mid style wingtips (with the triangle lenses) and would like to swap to the late style tips with the wrap around lenses. They are basically the exact same tip, but with bigger lenses. The plane originally had curved tips and there is a logbook entry from 1999 when they swapped the tips to the mid style.

I have found the PDF showing that late model tips can be installed. Being aerobatic my serial is CJ-8 but it also carries the serial number of CE-243.

Since I already have the triangle style tips, would this be considered a minor alteration with a logbook entry?

If the pdf you reference is approved data from Beech that covers CE-243 for the part number wing tips you want to install, a log entry and any weight & balance would suffice. Be sure and see if it is listed as a replacement for the wing tip on CJ-8, if you are planning on keeping it in the Aerobatic cat.

The new wingtips are the same part number but with a dash at the end (170001 vs 170001-47).

No idea if it's listed as a replacement.

The E33C Supplement shows the tips are supposed to be 35-170005-19 & -20. Can you post the pdf that 'allows' the upgrade?

It's this PDF. I just noticed that it specifically says not approved for E33C's.

Looks like I'm dead in the water. The idea was to add wigwags to the tips so I don't nail a bird over the lake near my home airport.
