My recently acquired Bonanza has a 430W with expired chart and terrain data. I'm new to the 430 but did figure out how to extract the data cards, only to discover that there must be some special devise I need to connect to my PC in order to upload current data. If this is correct, does anyone have an unused devise laying around? I realize I must purchase another data subscription from Garmin. I know the 430 is old technology but it's what I have until I can update the panel. Thanks, Robert

Set up a subscription. to update your aviation database.
Jepp will send you the "device".
I have never bothered to update the terrain but I think you get that thru Garmin.

The "device" you need is called Skybound, which can be purchased from MyPilotStore and/or other aviation shops. After subscribing to service from Jeppesen you insert this device into your laptop USB port to download new data onto data card. Easy to do after you get the required equipment and set everything up.
