I recently acquired a beautiful G35 with the STC IO-470 engine upgrade. The STC's only info re aircraft performance says, in effect, performance will equal or be better than with original engine. I know the airplane must be operated within existing CG limits, but what about any increased max weight? Certainly I'm not the first person to face this situation. Help Please!

The AFMS for the engine upgrade would state if there was a new maximum operating weight. I am unaware of any weight increases with an STC'd IO-470 engine installation, and I have done them on the early aircraft. If you need extra load carrying capability, I would suggest looking into tip tanks; they will often come with a maximum operating weight increase.
