Braze rod assy.

My braze rod for gear extension/retraction on the left side seems to be bent and is binding. Any idea what would cause this?

It sounds like you are talking about the left main retract rod braze assembly. If the rod is actually bent, it will need to be replaced.
These are two separate rods that slide in and out of each other during retraction and extension.
There needs to be lubrication where the rods slide, You can retract the gear 15 turns with the hand crank and then spray the retract rod spring with LPS2 and then pull the wheel in and out to work lube into area. You may have to repeat several times.
The other option is to crank up 15 turns, pull inboard on gear to allow shear pin to be removed in retract rod. Remove bolt attaching rod end to gear and slide braze assembly out of retract rod. Clean up and lube with grease and reinstall into retract rod, insert bolt and pull gear inboard to allow shear pin to be installed.
If shear pin is bent replace before installation.
