Battery

How often do we need to replace battery? I have batteryminder charger and charging the battery when not flying. It seems charging battery
great. Which battery brand is for B36TC? Gill vs Concorde vs Others?

Thank you

There is a battery capacitance test that should be done at every annual to determine battery health but, on average, batteries if maintained as you are doing can last between 5-7 years without replacement. My last Concorde lasted 7 ½ years before failing the capacitance test. Your aircraft TCDS specifies under Note #310(a) a “24v 10a/hr”-Model B36TC. Concorde provides the TSO RG-24-16, 24v, 13.6 a/hr battery by STC#SA00638WI. If purchased through Aero-Mach Wilco you get the STC paperwork included with the price. Just have your A&P do the required paperwork for install.

I love the trickle chargers.

I prefer the Concorde battery.

I have two Concorde batteries. I swap them each year.

Each has over 5 years of use.
