American Bonanza Society Terms of Use
Last Updated: October 26, 2026
Welcome to the American Bonanza Society (ABS).
The American Bonanza Society is dedicated to supporting Beechcraft aircraft owners, pilots, maintenance professionals, and aviation enthusiasts through education, technical resources, safety programs, and a community of shared knowledge.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of websites, mobile applications, member platforms, educational resources, and other digital services operated by or on behalf of the American Bonanza Society.
These services include, but are not limited to, bonanza.org, ABS Connect, ABS IQ, online member forums, digital publications, and related online resources (collectively, the "Services").
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Services.
Certain programs, events, purchases, and third-party services may be subject to additional terms or requirements.
1. Use of ABS Services
ABS provides its Services to support aviation education, safety, technical knowledge, member engagement, and organizational activities.
You agree to use the Services responsibly and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
You may not:
-
Use the Services for unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, or unauthorized purposes.
-
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or information.
-
Interfere with the security, availability, or performance of ABS systems.
-
Introduce malicious software or engage in activities that could damage ABS systems or other users.
-
Collect or distribute personal information about other users without appropriate authorization.
-
Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, professional credentials, or affiliation with ABS.
-
Use ABS content or systems in a manner that infringes intellectual property rights or violates applicable law.
ABS reserves the right to investigate suspected misuse and restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect its Services, members, or organization.
2. Membership Accounts and Access
Certain ABS Services and resources are available only to registered users or current ABS members.
You are responsible for maintaining accurate account information and protecting the confidentiality of your login credentials.
You agree not to share your account credentials with unauthorized individuals or otherwise permit access that circumvents applicable membership restrictions.
Access to particular resources may depend on your membership status, account permissions, registration, or other eligibility requirements.
ABS may modify account access, permissions, or available features as its programs and technology evolve.
ABS may suspend or restrict access when necessary to address security concerns, violations of these Terms, or unauthorized use.
The creation of an online account does not, by itself, establish an active paid ABS membership or entitlement to member-only benefits.
Membership dues, benefits, renewals, and other membership matters may be subject to separately published policies and applicable requirements.
3. Aviation Safety and Technical Information
ABS provides educational, technical, operational, and aviation safety information through its publications, training programs, Maintenance Technical Advisors, member forums, websites, applications, and other resources.
All such information is provided for educational and reference purposes.
Although ABS strives to provide useful, accurate, and reliable information, technical materials may contain errors, omissions, outdated information, or guidance that does not apply to a particular aircraft, engine, component, modification, or operating condition.
Aircraft configurations and applicable requirements can vary significantly based on model, serial number, equipment, modifications, maintenance history, and other factors.
Users are responsible for independently verifying information before relying upon it for aircraft maintenance, inspection, operation, or flight planning.
ABS resources do not replace:
-
Applicable Federal Aviation Administration regulations or other governing aviation requirements.
-
Airworthiness Directives and other legally applicable requirements.
-
Current manufacturer maintenance instructions, limitations, and technical documentation.
-
Required inspections, approvals, or maintenance procedures.
-
The judgment and responsibilities of appropriately qualified aviation professionals.
Maintenance, inspection, repair, alteration, and return-to-service activities must be performed or approved by individuals possessing the appropriate qualifications and authorizations, as required by applicable law.
Pilots remain responsible for the safe operation of their aircraft, including compliance with applicable operating limitations and aviation regulations.
Information provided by ABS staff, Maintenance Technical Advisors, contributors, instructors, or other participants does not constitute an aircraft inspection, engineering approval, maintenance release, or authorization to operate an aircraft unless expressly provided through a separately authorized process.
When technical information conflicts with applicable regulatory requirements or controlling manufacturer documentation, users must follow the applicable requirements and seek appropriate professional guidance.
4. ABS IQ and Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Information
ABS IQ is an artificial intelligence-assisted educational and technical knowledge resource designed to help users locate, organize, and understand information related to Beechcraft aircraft.
ABS IQ may generate responses using information from ABS publications, technical resources, educational videos, member discussions, Maintenance Technical Advisor conversations, manufacturer documents, and other reference materials.
Artificial intelligence systems can produce responses that are incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, misleading, or incorrectly interpreted.
ABS does not guarantee that ABS IQ responses are correct, complete, current, or applicable to any specific aircraft or circumstance.
In particular:
-
Aircraft model, serial number, engine, and equipment applicability must be independently verified.
-
Citations and source documents should be reviewed before relying on generated responses.
-
A response referencing an ABS Maintenance Technical Advisor does not necessarily mean that advisor reviewed or approved the generated answer.
-
ABS IQ responses are not a substitute for current manufacturer documentation, applicable regulatory requirements, or professional technical judgment.
-
ABS IQ must not be treated as the sole authority for flight safety, maintenance, airworthiness, or operational decisions.
Users should not submit unnecessary sensitive personal information, confidential third-party information, passwords, payment details, or other information unrelated to their technical questions.
Questions, feedback, and other information submitted through ABS IQ may be processed, stored, reviewed, or used to improve the Services in accordance with the ABS Privacy Policy.
ABS may update, modify, correct, remove, or discontinue AI-generated content or features as the technology evolves.
5. Member Forums and Community Communications
ABS provides forums, online discussions, mobile applications, and other communication features intended to encourage knowledge sharing and member engagement.
By participating in these Services, you agree to communicate respectfully and responsibly.
You may not post or distribute content that:
-
Is threatening, harassing, defamatory, abusive, fraudulent, or unlawful.
-
Violates the privacy or intellectual property rights of another individual or organization.
-
Contains malicious code, spam, or unauthorized commercial solicitations.
-
Misrepresents technical qualifications, professional credentials, or the source of information.
-
Intentionally promotes unsafe or unlawful aviation activities.
-
Discloses confidential or sensitive personal information without appropriate authorization.
-
Otherwise interferes with the intended purpose of the ABS community.
Members are encouraged to share accurate information, identify relevant aircraft models and configurations, and provide supporting references whenever practical.
Content submitted by individual users represents their own views and experiences and does not necessarily reflect the official position or endorsement of ABS.
ABS may review, moderate, edit, restrict, or remove content when reasonably necessary to maintain appropriate community standards, protect users, or comply with applicable law.
ABS is not obligated to monitor every submission or verify the accuracy of all user-generated information.
6. User-Submitted Content and Intellectual Property
Users may submit questions, comments, articles, photographs, technical information, forum posts, documents, feedback, and other materials through ABS Services ("User Content").
You retain ownership of User Content to the extent you hold the applicable intellectual property rights.
By submitting User Content, you grant ABS and its authorized service providers a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, format, summarize, index, and otherwise process that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, improve, and provide ABS Services and related educational and technical resources.
This license includes using relevant submissions to support ABS publications, member forums, search functions, knowledge management, educational materials, and ABS IQ.
This license does not transfer ownership of your User Content to ABS.
You represent that you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit the content and grant the uses described above.
ABS may remove or restrict access to submitted content when appropriate.
Users should not upload copyrighted technical manuals, publications, photographs, or other protected materials unless they have the necessary rights or authorization to do so.
ABS's use of third-party materials remains subject to applicable intellectual property laws and the rights of the respective owners.
7. ABS Content, Copyrights, and Trademarks
Unless otherwise indicated, original content created by ABS, including its website materials, publications, educational resources, graphics, branding, and other proprietary materials, is owned by ABS or used with appropriate permission.
Third-party materials, including manufacturer documents, photographs, trademarks, and technical publications, remain the property of their respective owners.
Access to ABS Services does not transfer ownership or grant unrestricted rights to reproduce, redistribute, sell, republish, or commercially exploit protected content.
Members may use available resources for their own personal, educational, and aircraft-related reference purposes, subject to applicable copyright restrictions and any additional terms governing particular materials.
Commercial reproduction, redistribution, publication, or other unauthorized use of protected ABS content requires appropriate authorization.
The names, trademarks, logos, and service marks associated with ABS and other organizations may not be used in a manner that falsely implies endorsement, certification, sponsorship, or affiliation.
Membership in ABS, participation in ABS training, or completion of an ABS educational program does not automatically constitute an organizational certification, endorsement, or authorization to represent a business as ABS-certified.
8. Communications and Notifications
ABS may communicate with users regarding membership accounts, programs, educational resources, safety information, events, transactions, and other organizational activities.
Communications may be delivered through email, telephone, postal mail, mobile applications, or other available channels, subject to applicable law and user preferences.
ABS may also offer optional promotional communications, newsletters, text messages, and electronic notifications.
Where required by law, ABS will obtain the appropriate consent before sending promotional communications through particular channels.
Users may opt out of optional promotional communications through the unsubscribe or opt-out methods provided.
Certain administrative, transactional, account-related, or legally required communications may continue where permitted or required by law.
Standard messaging and data charges may apply to mobile communications.
9. Telephone Communications and Recording
ABS may record certain telephone conversations to support member services, maintain accurate records, improve operational practices, provide training, and develop educational or technical resources.
Maintenance Technical Advisor conversations may be recorded, transcribed, summarized, and processed to support ABS educational resources, including ABS IQ.
Callers will receive recording notices and opportunities to provide or withhold consent as required by applicable law.
Information obtained through recorded conversations is handled in accordance with the ABS Privacy Policy and applicable requirements.
10. Privacy and Personal Information
ABS collects and processes personal information in connection with membership services, communications, educational programs, technical resources, and other organizational activities.
Our collection, use, sharing, retention, and protection of personal information are described in the American Bonanza Society Privacy Policy, available through bonanza.org.
By using ABS Services, you acknowledge that your information may be processed as described in that policy, subject to applicable legal requirements.
Where legally required, ABS will obtain separate consent for specific activities.
11. Third-Party Websites and Services
ABS Services may contain links, integrations, or references to external websites, applications, vendors, and other third-party resources.
These external resources may be governed by separate terms, privacy policies, and operating practices.
ABS does not control independent third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, or information-handling practices.
The inclusion of a third-party resource or link does not necessarily constitute an endorsement by ABS.
Users should review the applicable terms and privacy policies before using external services.
12. Availability and Changes to Services
ABS strives to maintain reliable and useful Services but does not guarantee continuous availability or uninterrupted access.
Services may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical issues, security concerns, system upgrades, or circumstances beyond ABS's reasonable control.
ABS may modify, improve, replace, restrict, or discontinue particular features or resources as organizational needs and technology evolve.
ABS may also correct, update, or remove information when necessary.
Any material changes affecting paid membership benefits or purchased services remain subject to applicable law and relevant membership or transaction terms.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ABS Services and their content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
ABS makes no guarantee that information, technical guidance, software, AI-generated responses, reference materials, or other Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, accurate, current, or suitable for a particular purpose.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, ABS disclaims implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, except where such disclaimers are prohibited.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict warranties, rights, or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ABS and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, contractors, and authorized service providers shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to the use of ABS Services.
This includes, where legally permitted, losses resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information, interruptions in service, data loss, inability to access Services, or reliance on educational or technical content.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability arising from conduct for which applicable law prohibits such limitations.
Users acknowledge that aviation activities involve risks and that decisions regarding aircraft operation, maintenance, inspection, and airworthiness require independent verification and compliance with applicable regulatory and professional requirements.
15. Suspension or Termination of Access
ABS may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to its Services when reasonably necessary because of:
-
Violations of these Terms.
-
Unauthorized or fraudulent activities.
-
Threats to system security or other users.
-
Misuse of ABS intellectual property or protected content.
-
Failure to meet applicable membership or access requirements.
-
Legal, regulatory, or operational requirements.
Termination or restriction of access does not automatically alter any separate contractual obligations, payment responsibilities, or rights established under applicable law.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
To the extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Subject to applicable legal requirements and any mandatory consumer protections, disputes arising from these Terms or the use of ABS Services shall be brought before courts of competent jurisdiction located in Kansas.
Nothing in this section is intended to restrict rights or protections that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable law.
17. Changes to These Terms
ABS may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in its Services, technology, organizational practices, or applicable laws.
Updated Terms will be published with a revised effective date.
Where required by law, ABS will provide additional notice or obtain consent before material changes take effect.
Continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective may constitute acceptance of those changes to the extent permitted by applicable law.
18. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Failure by ABS to enforce a particular provision does not constitute a waiver of its right to enforce that provision in the future.
These Terms, together with applicable service-specific terms and policies, constitute the agreement governing use of the Services, except where a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms establishes an employment, partnership, joint venture, agency, or other similar relationship between a user and ABS.
19. Copyright Concerns and Content Removal Requests
ABS respects the intellectual property rights of others.
Individuals who believe content available through ABS Services infringes their copyright or other intellectual property rights may contact ABS with sufficient information to identify the material and explain the concern.
Copyright infringement notices subject to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act should be directed to ABS's designated copyright agent, if applicable, using the contact information listed in the U.S. Copyright Office's designated agent directory.
ABS may investigate reports of infringement and remove or restrict access to material when appropriate or required by law.
