Flying Turbonormalized Bonanzas
Course Description
Addition of an aftermarket turbocharging system—a turbonormalizer—is a popular modification for many Bonanza owners. Kevin Crozier is a BPPP instructor, FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) and an independent consultant to Tornado Alley Turbo. In this program Kevin will address considerations for installing and operating a turbonormalized airplane, including:
- Determining if a turbonormalized Bonanza or upgrading your own Bonanza is right for you.
- How to safely and efficiently operate your turbonormalized Bonanza in all phases of flight.
- How to handle emergencies in turbonormalized aircraft.
Presenter
Kevin Crozier has been passionate about aviation since his youth, taking his first flying lesson at 13 in a Beechcraft Musketeer in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Today, Kevin is the caretaker of a turbonormalized 1981 A36 Bonanza which he has owned since 2010. So far in his flying career he has accumulated over 2200 hours total time with over 1600 hours in Bonanzas - most of that in turbonormalized A36s. Kevin is a BPPP CFI and a software DER. He is the owner of Ktronics Aero Services located near Austin, Texas.
