Three Green and Other Good Things

Course Description

Pilots talk a lot about gear up landings. But landing gear collapse—when the gear is down but does not stay down—is more common in ABS-type airplanes. Sometimes these are pilot error, but evidence is that many may be due to deferred routine maintenance on the landing gear system. And sometimes the landing gear breaks in flight. In this Deep Dive ABS’ Tom Turner reviews the things a Beech owners should do to reduce the chances of a landing gear mishap, and reviews several inflight scenarios not addressed in the Pilot’s Operating Handbook so pilots can make decisions that result in the best outcome under the circumstances.
