Twin Time

Course Description

About one-quarter of all ABS-type airplanes are twins: Beech Travel Airs and Barons. Many aspects of the Beech twins are unique, even before you consider flying on one engine. In this edition of ABSWeb ABS Executive Director Thomas P. Turner focuses on flying Barons and Travel Airs, the distinct and sometimes incompletely understood systems of the Beech twins, and tips for safe and effective flight instruction for both the instructor and the pilot receiving instruction.

Topics we’ll cover include:

  • By the Numbers flight in Barons and Travel Airs
  • Baron and Travel Air fuel systems in normal and emergency operation
  • Beech twin electrical systems
  • Understanding combustion cabin heaters
  • Real-world considerations for single-engine operation

Presenter
